Junkers EF024

The EF024 was a single engined fighter aircraft, which was under development since January 1927. The fighter aircraft was originally intended for the Turkish market. In February 1927 the EF024/1 single seater and the EF024/2 double seater Version were introduced. Both were equipped with a Gnome-Rhone "Jupiter VI" engine with 480 hp.

While the EF024/1 was cancelled, the EF024/2 was further designed in 1927. In Summer 1927 several alternate engine types were investigated and in December 1927 Hermann Pohlmann supplied the final design of the high Performance twin seater aircraft. In January 1928 the EF024 Designator was changed to Junkers J47 and Junkers J48, which later became the Junkers A48 and K47.
