Main Business:
Patent Handling of Hugo Junkers engine patents

Management Positions:

Facilities:

Company Development:
The Junkers Motoren-Patentstelle GmbH was founded by the trustees of the Junkers Motorenwerke GmbH in November 1932. A major concern of the financial shareholders was the dependency of the Motorenwerke on Hugo Junkers' patents. Hugo Junkers intended to transfer all of his engine patents onto this company. As the legal patent holder, the new company would sign utilization contracts with the different Junkers companies, i.e. the
Junkers Motorenwerke GmbH, which on the other hand would pay license fees to the Motoren-Patentstelle.

When ICO was sold to Bosch, the financial crisis at Junkers was solved. Therefore the demand for a stronger structurization at Junkers became less important and Hugo Junkers failed to transfer his patent rights into the Patentstelle. However, when the Nazi Government asked Junkers to transfer his patent rights to Junkers Flugzeugwerke and Junkers Motorenwerke in 1933, Hugo Junkers picked up again the idea of the Patentstelle. But the Nazi Government finally forced Hugo Junkers to transfer his patent rights directly onto the Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke in 1934. The Patentstelle seemed to have been dissolved shortly afterwards.

The Junkers Motoren-Patentstelle GmbH was holding just the engine related Junkers patents, while the Junkers Flugzeug-Patentstelle GmbH should hold the aircraft related patents. This would have allowed partial sale of Junkers' patents to engine or aircraft companies for capitalization in case of an unsuccessfull recovery of the Junkers Flugzeugwerke A.G. or the Junkers Motorenwerke GmbH.
